As for YammieNoob’s crash:
From what he says, he didn’t even remember it, but just watching a couple of his videos and his crash video I knew he was being stupid and crashed and he was...
Life lesson: Don’t pretend to be Marquez on the street, just being a responsible and sensible rider is dangerous enough, track days aren’t that expensive, specially compared to a totaled bike that an insurance company won’t pay for because you were speeding or hefty medical bills or your own death.

Of course he was. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a video of him riding sane and with only a year of experience it was just a matter of time.

That poor Daytona. She didn’t deserve that death.

Yup yup, I know so many stupid idiots that ride like that, I honestly can’t be sad or sorry when they go down.
If he keeps it on the track, whatever, but if he keeps riding like that on the street, one day he will kill himself, no matter how talented or experienced he is.

It was a really good looking bike, when I saw the video I forgot it was a Daytona and for a second thought it was a Speed/Street and went: “That doesn’t look that bad...”
Though I don’t think I know a guy who owns one that isn’t a stunter or a total squid, I guess most Daytonas have the same fate.

I mean I’ll ride aggressively, but it’s never beyond my line of sight or my skill level, he routinely does both (this is actually the very reason I hate sport-bike group rides, too many who ride waay beyond what is wise to not be a “pussy”).

Damn shame because they are such good looking and performing bikes. Like Mr. Regular says “if you buy this as your first bike you deserve whatever happens to you.” I wanna get one in a couple years but no way in hell would I just jump straight to one.

I actually like the naked triples from Triumph better though; but they’re more torquey mid range and low down, so they seem also a bit too much for me right now; didn’t realize the difference just a bit of torque makes.
Having transitioned from a ~70hp BMW to an elecric scooter to a ~80 hp Ducati, when you have the torque it just makes so much difference it’s scary as balls from having tolerable torque to instant (though lowish) torque to almost instant massive torque and aggressive gearing it was such a shock both changes; I can’t imagine the triple’s torque, though in return, 4 cylinder bikes aren’t that scary to me anymore, but Panigales and Hypers are crazy scary to me now lol.

i remember him posting something about ‘oh, I change my mind about starting on a 300"
also, some of this stuff is making me realized I have been riding for a very disproportionate chunk of my life...
21 and already 5 years of riding. and ofc, the last 2 years have been...erm. ‘hurried’. riding.

Kinda scares me how someone with so little experience can be one of the most public faces of motorcycling. And his new bike, the fz09, will not take kindly to his riding style. He’s gonna want to ride it like the Daytona, but probably won’t realize that it doesn’t have the same posh suspension to save his ass.
I’m in the same boat... But I wasted the first 5 years of my riding life on cruisers! Only been really riding for the last 3 or so.

oh hell he got an FZ-09?
hmm. no ABS, no fwanshy suspension...
that bike is going to kick him on his ass so badly.

Unless, maybe his crash changed his perspective on shit a little and now he rides within his limits... that’s pretty common right?

how old is this guy again? if he is like mid 30s, maybe.
early twenteis? probably not. My crash didnt change shit for me. Then again, my crash was a lowside where I walked out with nothing (yay gear!)

Late 20s I think, so it could go either way!
To be honest my crash didn’t change my riding so much as it changed my maintenance intervals. (Locked up the front and washed out due to an old tire)
